Advocacy Ambassadors Go To Washington DC

for 2011 AAO Mid Year Forum

Residents Meredith Saylor, MD and Jordan Rixen, MD were chosen to attend the AAO Congresional Advocacy Day and Mid-Year Forum held April 6-9. The Univeristy of Iowa and the Iowa Academy of Ophthalmology co-sponsor residents to attend this event each year.

 

The meeting started with a briefing on key advocacy issues fom the AAO, followed by visits to Capitol. Drs.  Saylor and Rixen had the opportunity to interact with many AAO leaders.  They shared their experiences with fellow residents at a Grand Rounds Presentation at the University of Iowa on May 9.
